USTFCCCA Regional Award Winners

May 24, 2011-- North Central College head men's track & field coach Frank Gramarosso was honored on Monday afternoon, earning the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's Midwest Region Coach of the Year honor for the outdoor season.

Gramarosso guided North Central to its 33rd College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Outdoor Championship on May 7 as the third-ranked Cardinals piled on 284 points to outdistance runner-up and eighth-ranked Augustana College by 41 points.

North Central sends 13 entries spread across seven events for this weekend's NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships, including the top seeded competitors in the 5,000-meters, 10,000-meters and the 4x400-meter relay.

Gramarosso was named the USTFCCCA National and Midwest Region Coach of the Year during the 2011 indoor season, guiding the Cardinals to their second straight indoor national title.

North Central begins its quest for a second straight outdoor national title on Thursday in Delaware, Ohio in the opening day of the three-day NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships.
