Complete USTFCCCA Division I Women's All-Academic Team

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan College's Malin Olsson (Malmo, Sweden) has been selected to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I All-Academic women's track & field team for the 2010-11 season.  She is one of a record 663 student-athletes from 172 institutions to receive the honors.

Olsson was named the Most Outstanding Performer for Field Events at both the indoor and outdoor Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships.  She set championship records in the long jump at both meets while also winning the gold medal in the triple jump indoors.  In addition, Olsson became the first woman in school history to jump 20 feet indoors when she uncorked a leap of 6.24 meters (20 feet, 5¾ inches) on Feb. 9.  She surpassed the 20-foot barrier outdoors, as well, leaping 6.12 m (20'1) to win the bronze medal in the Championship of America at the historic Penn Relays on April 28.

To be eligible for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and have finished among the top 96 on the national list indoors or competed at the NCAA Outdoor Championships (including Regionals) in their given event.  Olsson ranked 19th in the nation indoors in the long jump and also competed at the NCAA East Regional in the event, placing 19th.
