Pompey Contests 400 Meters at World Championships

DAEGU, South Korea - Representing her native Guyana, former Manhattan College track & field star Aliann Pompey was in action on Saturday at the IAAF World Championships from Daegu Stadium.  Pompey competed in the women's 400 meters, but didn't advance out of the first round.  Her time of 53.59 seconds was good for fifth place in her heat.  However, only the top four finishers in each heat moved on to Sunday's semifinals.
