Sept. 20, 2011-- For her performance at Friday's Illinois Intercollegiate Invitational, North Central College's Alicia Zimmerman has been selected as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Zimmerman finished 17th among a field of 291 competitors, traversing the 5,000-meter course at the D.A. Weibring Golf Course in Normal, Ill. in 18 minutes, 21 seconds. The senior clocked the second fastest time among NCAA Division III competitors, helping the Cardinals to a seventh place showing among the 28 team field.

The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, making the short trek to Warrenville, Ill. for the Wheaton College Invitational with races slated to begin at 10 a.m.
