LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Kennesaw State women’s cross country team finished 27th out of 32 at the Greater Louisville Classic as the team finished with a total time of 1:40:54.63.
Vicky Winslow led the Owls as the freshman finished 33rd out of 258 in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 18:52.85. The next closest racer for the Black and Gold was freshman Sidney Williams as she finished tied for 122nd with a time of 19:50.73.
A pair of freshman was next to cross the finish line for the young squad as Trice Sweet ran a time of 20:13.75 to finish 152nd, while Alla Yoonis posted a time of 20:39.05 to finish 182nd.
Ashley Wallace concluded the scoring for the Owls as the freshman finished 208th with a time of 21:18.25.
Freshman Amy Rice placed 211th with a time of 21:26.26, while Brittany Robinson placed 217th after running the race in 21:36.05 and Oliva Eurek rounded out the Kennesaw runners in 232nd after posting a time of 21:55.73.
“The team ran a very par race,” Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Operations, Andy Eggerth said. “The women are right on schedule of where we expected them to be and we will continue to see faster times out of them.”
The Owls will have one more tune-up race in two weeks before competing in the A-Sun Championship Oct. 29. The team will travel to Tuscaloosa, Oct. 15, to compete in the Crimson Classic, an event hosted by the University of Alabama.
