Women's Cross Country Finish 17th at Crimson Classic

Winslow leads Owls for second consecutive week

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Kennesaw State women’s cross country team finished in 17th place at the Crimson Classic as the Owls were led by freshman Vicky Winslow for the second consecutive week.

Winslow finished as the top runner for the Black and Gold with a 47th place finish running a 5k time of 18:52.03 at the Harry Pritchett Running Park. Next to cross the finish line for the Owls just five seconds apart was freshmen Sydney Williams and Lauren Scott as Williams placed 100th with a time of 19:48.81 and Scott turned in a time of 19:53.21 to finish 105th.

Freshman Trice Sweet posted a time of 20:53.01 to place 151st, while Alla Yoonis rounded out the scoring for the team with a 166th place finish turning in a time of 21:50.03 only to finish just ahead of Amy Rice in 168th place with a time of 21:56.87.

Brittany Robinson placed 174 with a time of 22:18.50, while teammate Oliva Eurek finished with a time of 23:20.96 to place 182nd.

The Owls finished with a team total of 1:41:17.09 and an average time of 20:15.42. Host school Alabama claimed the team title with a time of 1:30:38.84 to beat SEC foes Ole Miss., Tennessee and Georgia as they finished second, third, and fourth.

The team will have two weeks off before traveling to Nashville, Tenn., for the Atlantic Sun Championship on Oct. 29. The Kennesaw State Athletic Department is offering fans an opportunity to travel with the team to support their pursuit of an A-Sun championship title.
