The Kentucky Wesleyan men placed 10th at the second annual Fast Cats Classic cross country 8,000 kilometer competition on Saturday at Owensboro's Yellow Creek Park.
The Panthers were led by
Josh Bratcher, who placed 36th in 28:24. Also scoring for KWC were
Nick Richey (60th, 29:38),
Michael Kincaid (72nd, 30:14),
Brenton Smith (74th, 30:20) and
Brent Mesplay (87th, 31:30).
Austin Peay won the title and independent runner David Baker captured first place.
On the women's side, the Panthers also finished 10th over the 5,000 kilometer race.
Scoring for KWC were Taylor Owens (31st, 20:14),
Kali Bonner (51st, 21:02),
Raley Owens (52nd, 21:04), Brittnay McCarthy (86th, 23:08) and
Tiffany Clark (95th, 24:01).
Southern Indiana's Jackie Henderson earned the individual honor as her Screaming Eagles won the Classic.
Eleven teams and 107 runners competed for the men and 13 squads and 107 individuals for the women.
KWC will run at the Great Lakes Valley Conference next Saturday at Evansville, Ind.
