Susquehanna, Pa. (Feb. 19, 2012) - In the final tune up before the championship part of the indoor season, the Crusader Track and Field teams competed at the SU Open at Susquehanna University. The women were led by throwers sophomore
Amanda Searle (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Regional) and freshman
Rachel Heisler (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown). Searle and Heisler finished seventh and eighth respectively, in a loaded field of the weight throw. Sophomore
Jazmyn Vega (Reading, Pa./Holy Name) had a solid day, throwing just under her personal best in the shot put.

Bridget Verdel (Hamilton Square, NJ/Notre Dame) set a new best in the pole vault, clearing 2.75m, while sophomore
Erin Verdon (Washington, NJ/Warren Hills) was just above her lifetime bests in both the 400m and 200m dashes.
Overall the womens team has earned 18 MAC Conference championship qualifying marks and will look to build upon it's most successful season thus far at the MAC conference championship meet next weekend. The meet will take place at Lehigh University, starting at 10am Saturday.
