Men's 4 x 200m Team Places Third

Freshman Quartet Set New School Record

Susquehanna, Pa. (Feb.17, 2012) - In the final tune up before the Championship part of the indoor season, the Crusader Track and Field teams competed at the SU Open at Susquehanna University.  The men's team was led by the 4x200m relay team and their third place finish.  The quartet of freshmen, Tyrone McCloud (Lindenwold, NJ/Lindenwold), Zach Wilson (Newark, De./Caravel Academy), Andrew Martin (Thornton, Pa./Garnet Valley) and Brandon Young (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) set a new school record in 1:34.47, narrowly off the ECAC qualifying mark.

Individually, Martin earned a ninth place finish in the Pole Vault, clearing 4.00m.  Freshman Indeo Ragsdale (Lindenwold, NJ/Lindenwold) earned a qualifying mark in the 60m Hurdles, finishing 13th in a very good field of hurdlers.  Freshman Cody Hughes (Birdsboro, Pa./Twin Valley) ran just outside of his lifetime best set earlier this year to finish 14th.

Hughes teamed with Young, McCloud and Wilson to run the 4x400m relay as well.  The quartet finished in 11th place.
Freshman Kevin Griffin (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) finished competing in the events of the Heptathlon to earn his MAC qualifying mark in the event.  Overall the men's team has earned 24 MAC Conference championship qualifying marks and will look to build upon it's most successful season thus far at the MAC conference championship meet next weekend.  The Heptathlon day one will start at 3pm at Widener University on Friday and day two and the remainder of the events will take place at Lehigh University, starting at 10am Saturday.
