Ashland Earns All-America Honors

Grinnell, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team is tied for 25th-place after the first day of action at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Indoor Championships in the Charles Benson Bear Recreation and Athletic Center. The championships are being hosted by Grinnell College (Iowa). The Eagles have 3.5 team points while UW-Oshkosh leads with 20.0.  Wartburg College (Iowa) is second with 16.0 points and Washington University (Mo.) is in third with 13.0.

Ramapo College (N.J.) and Tufts University (Mass.) are tied for fourth (12.0 points) while Ithaca College (N.Y.) is sixth (11.0).  Middlebury College (Vt.), Marietta College (Ohio) and Linfield College (Ore.) are tied for seventh (10.0).  A total of 36 teams scored points.

UW-L's Kayla Ashland tied for fifth in the high jump (5-5) Friday to earn her first career NCAA III All-America honor.

The Eagles' Nicole Flackey placed 15th in the weight throw (47-1).

Action continues Saturday at Grinnell College.
