NAMPA, Idaho – Cornell sophomore high jumper
Montez Blair tied for ninth in at the NCAA Indoor Championships on Saturday afternoon, jumping a height of 2.15 meters (7' 1/2”).
Blair's score was just 0.05 meters shy of eighth-place Malik Reynolds of Penn and .08 meters behind winner Nick Ross' 2.23-meter jump.
Blair, who holds the school and freshman record with a jump of 7' 3 1/4”, was not able to clear 2.20 meters after clearing 2.10 meters and 2.15 meters on his first jumps.
Cornell's
Stephen Mozia placed 16th in the country on Friday night in the shot put event, throwing the shot 17.35 meters (56' 11 1/4").
With Blair's night complete, Cornell's indoor season is complete as well. The Big Red men's and women's track outdoor seasons start next weekend with a meet in California.
