NCAA Qualifier Results
La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field squad hosted a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Qualifier Thursday night at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. No team scores were recorded. The Eagles'
Joe DeRosier,
Troy Brooks and
Andy Novak earned individual titles Thursday with DeRosier winning the 110-meter hurdles (14.69), Brooks the long jump (23-10 3/4) and Novak the shot put (59-9 3/4).
UW-L also won the 4x100-meter relay (41.19) with
Jared Sitte,
Terrence Thigpen,
David Sikorski and Brooks.
Other top finishes on the track included Sikorski placing third (10.68), Sitte fifth (10.74) and Brooks sixth (10.74) in the 100-meter dash while
Luke Ackerson was fourth (14.78) in the 110-meter hurdles. UW-L's
Eric Smits finished sixth (1:53.83) in the 800-meter run and
Garrett Kerska was 13th (4:04.91) in the 1,500-meter run.
In the field events,
David Pergande was second (16-1 3/4) in the pole vault while
Jeremiah Burish tied for fourth (15-1 3/4),
Jeffrey Hill was sixth (15-1 3/4),
Gary Trkula and
Bryan Klister tied for eighth (14-8) and
Andy Grossman was 16th (14-2).
Brett Davis was third (23-7 1/2),
Clark Lundquist fifth (22-10 1/2),
Christopher Haase 10th (21-9 1/2) and
Nick Stone 11th (20-9) in the long jump for the Eagles.
Tony Bilderback placed third (47-11) in the triple jump with Davis fifth (47-5 3/4) and
Daniel Petkau seventh (44-11 3/4).
Grant Havard was fourth (162-0), Novak fifth (161-5),
Ross Von Glahn 10th (144-0) and
John Cooper 12th (140-9) in the discus throw. In the hammer throw, Havard was 10th (173-10), Von Glahn 12th (168-8) and Cooper 13th (166-11).
In the shot put,
Alex Zart finished ninth (48-5 1/2) while
Adam Poellinger was 11th (47-7 3/4).
UW-L returns to action Thursday, May 24 at the NCAA Division III Championships in Claremont, California.
