LONDON - Former Manhattan College track & field star Aliann Pompey was eliminated in the semifinal round of the women's 400 meters at the 2012 London Olympics from Olympic Stadium on Saturday. Needing to finish among the top two in her heat, Pompey placed eighth in a time of 52.58 seconds.
Running in her fourth straight Olympics for her native Guyana, Pompey advanced to the semifinals for the third successive Games. She advanced to the semifinals by posting a time of 52.10 seconds in the first round on Friday.
