Please read and use this thread for questions and answers about the Jimmy Carnes invitational. We want to respond quickly and can not do that if each question creates a new thread. The last two created were already answered in existing threads. Basic summary: 1. Age is based on year of birth 2. After the published packet pickup times, they will be at the Gate 1 ticket booth. No questions/adjustments will be addressed at that location. 3. This meet is on a rolling time schedule. As best guess will be made after the entries close. (Should be on www.halfmiletiming.com Thursday before the meet.) That is only a guess and we will go ahead if we can. 4. No HS athletes may enter the College/Open sections on Sunday. 5. All youth/HS events are on Saturday with the exception of the 55m Hurdles and the 15-18 (HS) mile. 6. CoachO.com is the entry site for Youth/HS and Directathletics.com is the entry site for College and Open athletes. Please send questions to this thread. We will try to respond ASAP! Thanks, Jimmy Carnes Management Team

On another post I found the performance list. http://coachoregistration.com/cgi-bin/perflist.pl?cd=fl_gsc&meet=01-26_Jimmy_Carnes_Youth_Indoor_Meet I see in this performance list a high school 1500M listed for Saturday including 15-16 and 17-18 year olds. I was expecting to see "The Mile", not the 1500 for those age groups and I was expecting to see it listed for Sunday on the Performance list. So my questions are 1) to register for the 15-16 Girls "Mile" on Sunday, what site do we go to? 2) Will it say Mile or some other distance like 1500? Then to register for the Girls 800M 15-16 for Saturday, we'd go to CoachO. 3) Is the 1500 category for the older HS girls a mistake on CoachO? 4) Should it have The Mile listed under a Sunday category for some age groups?

I see some NM. Please be sure we have marks for performances or your seeding will not be accurate. Also, make sure marks are accurate. 5.80 for the 60m would be a world record. Marvin Bracy ran 6.08 last year.

the 1500 listed is the mile. Not sure why it is listed as 1500. I'll check on it with CoachO. The schedule is not important to registration. Coach O probably kept previous schedule when creating entry plan. We are running the Mile not the 1500, but register for the 1500 for now. Scott

@Halfmiletiming Then for now, if a kid wants to run the Mile on Sunday, they should sign up on CoachO for the 1500 on Saturday. The CoachO site may or may not be updated. Gotcha. Thanks.

In response to the other age group questions-based on YEAR of birth, not date. If you have a runner born in 1999 (even if it is December 31,1999), they are 14 for this race.

@jdpsu I know. I was having fun with the wording. “Age is based on year of birth” sounds like it belongs with “Height is based on how tall you are” or “Weight is based on gravity.” :-p But I know. It’s one of the more common questions for this meet. Besides, the CoachO site does the math for you.

The problem I noticed last year is some entered 1500 marks for their seeds and others mile marks. They did this because Coach O said 1500 but the race was actually the mile. So again this year we have the same problem. This will obviously mess up the seeding. Any chance you guys will be able to verify marks before the race and re-seed if needed. I am assuming we should be entering mile marks?
