Great job by all the Florida runners! The #5 runner of GA was only 1.3 seconds ahead of UF's #5....ouch.

@jdpsu The deciding factor between FL & GA was the 4 spot. Carlos stepped up in his 1st ever collegiate 10k as the Gators #4 but his 29 vs. GA's 20 was the difference. GA 4 - 7 - 10 - 20 - 31, FL 1 - 2 - 9 - 29 - 32. Interesting side notes of this meet are the posted distances for the two races. Men's 9,725 meters / Women's 5,848 meters. What's up with that? ~Twangster

@twangster My point was if UF #5 runs 1.5 secs faster, he gets 31st & GA gets 32nd and UF wins by a point.

@jdpsu Understood. My point is that +1.3 sec. at the 4 spot would have resulted in the same point swing for FL. ~Twangster

Florida high school products were well represented on the NCAA All-South Region men's and women's teams (top 25): Men 1. Mark Parrish (UF/Chamberlain) 2. Jimmy Clark (UF/Creekside) 9. Eddie Garcia (UF/Mandarin) 13. Josh Gracia (FSU/Santaluces) 25. Argeo Cruz (FGCU/Imokalee) Women 11. Anne-Marie Blaney (UCF/Bellview) 13. Katelyn Greenleaf (Alabama/St. Pete Northside) 18. Carly Thomas (FSU/Chiles) Florida men and FSU women are headed to NCAA Championship meet as teams, as are Vanderbilt women, which include Rebecca Chandler (Bolles), Vanessa Valentine (Melbourne) and Lily Williams (Chiles). Nice representation! Hope I didn't miss any Floridians among these honorees!

@tallydad UF freshman and 4th man, Carlos Miranda of Palmetto Ridge High School finished 29th in his first 10k race! He has run an incredible season and continues to get stronger with each race.

@phb1 No doubt an outstanding 10K debut by Carlos! No slight intended. Was just listing All-Region performers...Should have included names of other qualifying Floridians from UF runner-up team: Carlos Miranda (Palmetto Ridge), JL Hines (Boone), Mac Reynolds (Nease) and Harsha Torke (Viera)
