Congrats to Jack Guyton's 4:02.37 indoor mile last night! http://floridagators.com/news/2017/1/14/track-and-field-guytons-mile-paces-gators-at-commodore-invitational.aspx I can't think of any Florida bred who ran under 4 minutes. Below are Florida's top indoor milers who ran high school in Florida. I've sent an e-mail to Bob Thomas for FSU records. Possibly Bob Braman could chime in on FSU top milers and Florida history. Others might know as well. Ryan Ripley(Belleview/Ok State) came close to a sub 4 a few years ago. 4:00.14 at the Murfreesboro Music City Distance Carnival (USA) on 6/1/2013. Steve Zieminski 4:02.06 2005 Florida Last Chance (3/3) Justin Taylor 4:03.31 2010 Alex Wilson Invitational (3/6) Donnell Johnson 4:03.37 not sure if Donnell ran for a Florida high school or not outdoor 1500m(~3:42.28 is a 4 minute mile) Justin Taylor 3:43.72 2010 Pepsi Florida Relays (4/2) Andres Arroyo 3:44.54 2015 Tom Jones Memorial (4/24) Here is a list of American milers who have broken 4 minutes for the mile. Scanning it, I can't find any Floridian high schoolers on the list. https://www.trackandfieldnews.com/index.php/archivemenu/13-lists/1476-tafn-us-sub-400-milers

@CoachHalliday Great thanks Dave! Come to think of it, there is David Freeman too. He ran for Hialeah and Kentucky https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Freeman_(athlete) At one time, he, Moise Joseph, Jean Balan and Bershawn Jackson were on the same high school team. Personal best(s)800 m: 1:46.94 (2007) 1500 m: 3:38.90 (2007)

@altimari Nice catch. Keith ran that at one of the New Balance Summers Races in 1990, he thinks. "Ricky, I ran that @ one of the New Balance Summer races I believe in 1990. (I'll check my log books). I know it was a close race between Mike Stahr, Tim[Hacker](ran for Indiana collegiately) and me. Respectfully, Keith Brantly" BTW, there are a lot of publications including the state record book that have Keith's last name spelled incorrectly. No "e" between the l and y. http://www.fhsaa.org/sites/default/files/orig_uploads/records/rec_ccb.pdf
