@therunna No. I'm still reeling from the fact that I failed to be even nominated for AO athlete of the year...

@Stats I know freemantle and flanagan will run it so they should have a great battle over the shorter distance. Also we get to see how midget boys champion robbie elmhirst will stack up against the best juniors in ontario, either way there will be ALOT of talent in this race evan if just half of the top 20 from OFSAA show up.

@FT58 Yves could very well win AO's. Look back at some of the Nat's results from the early 2000's. Bairu cleaned the clocks of the 'old guys' when he was still a junior, so there is precedence. That said, I don't think he will win. I say he's good for a medal, and has a shot ATW, but there are some solid XC runners on that list. A quick look at the entries allows me to pick out a few who should/could beat him: Derek Snider (won Guelph earlier this fall), Cleve Thorson (has done very well in recent national XC champs), Ryan Finn (3rd last year), Adam Hortian (on the Ekiden team), Saheed Khan (former national XC team member), Dagim Yeshitela (1:03 half marathon this fall, should win), Joe Campanelli (solid XC runner), Trevor Caldwell (former national XC team member), Paul Chafe (Former CIS XC medalist). There may be others, but they are of unknown quality (e.g. Russel Christie was 7th at CIS last year. I haven't seen a recent result from him). Was this an 800m we could also throw Kyle Smith into the battle too.

Yves doesn't know how to lose. He'll be tough and naive and win the senior race.

If this isn't a joke, pretty impressive for a 17 year old. Has a 17 year old ever won provincial seniors?

Man, didn't know it was you that posted this till I looked at the name. Ha. I 100% agree. It was too flat & the distances were way to short. Sure, the course produced some quick times. But, not much of a challenge..

If you don't like the course then tell your club to step up and host the championships next year. At least this group took it upon themselves to host the meet. There's not many clubs willing to put the time and effort in to host a meet so don't bash those willing to take on the challenge.

Oh shut up with the 50 bones thing. Hahaha. Yes, I was expecting this meet to be on the Nats course. That would make a lot of sense. It would also prepare those going to Nats.
