    The Hoosiers got big performances throughout the weekend to take the men's and women's titles at the Indiana Invitational. The women's meet came down to the final event, with the Hoosiers running away with the 4x400m relay for the win with 203.5 points, to Michigan State's 201. The men wrapped up the meet much earlier, taking 189 points, to MSU's 161. The Hoosiers broke five meet records in the meet.

    Newcomer Kaitlyn Good finished second overall in the heptathlon to kick-off day two at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by University of Cincinnati at Gettler Stadium on Saturday morning. Good, who is coming off a victory at the Oliver Nikoloff Open earlier this month, crossed the line first in the 800-meter run (2:17.18) to earn 4697 points in the multi-event competition.

  • Porter is automatic national qualifier in women's 5,000 at Mt. SAC Relays

    Western Washington University's Sarah Porter broke her own school record set last season by nearly 27 seconds as she placed fourth in the women's 5,000 meters with a NCAA Division II automatic qualifying time of 15:57.02 on Friday night at the 53rd Annual Mt. SAC Relays being held at Hilmer Lodge Stadium. Porter's time is the second-best nationally this season. She placed third at nationals in 2010 and seventh in 2009.

    Chester, Pa. (Apr. 2, 2011) - The Men's and Women's Track and Field teams competed at the Danny Curran Invitational at Widener University, hitting 11 MAC Qualifying marks and earning six top ten finishes. Brian Nerney (Middletown, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) improved upon his best mark of the season in high jump, clearing 1.98m/6'6” and winning the event, while placing sixth in the long jump, breaking the school record and bettering his previous MAC qualifying mark.

  • Wildcats Captured Team Title at 46th Colonial Relays

    Junior Shericka Ward (Leesburg, Fla.) and freshman Samantha Francis (Kingston, Jamaica) were individual winners in the 100 meter hurdles and the triple jump, respectively, and Villanova also won the 4x400 meter relay en route to capturing the team championship in the 46th Colonial Relays at Zable Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Counting today's action plus the first day of competition on Friday the Wildcats won six different events and dominated the team standings with 116.2 points. No other team in the field of 40 schools had more than 62 points.
