A young squad that featured one sophomore and two freshmen ran the second-fastest time in school history Friday at the 2011 Drake Relays.

The Husky men's track and field team was victorious over the rival Cougars this evening in the final UW-WSU dual meet ever to be held in Husky Stadium. Washington bookended the stadium's history with wins in 1922 and 2011.

Junior Keith Hayes led the way for the University of Kentucky track and field team, qualifying for the finals of the 110-meter hurdles Friday at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa. Hayes will compete for the 110m hurdles title at 3:50 p.m. ET in front of an expected capacity crowd of more than 10,000 patrons at Drake Stadium.

DES MOINES, Iowa ---- Samford junior Michael Seaman highlighted the Bulldogs' action at the Drake Relays Friday with a fourth place finish in the men's pole vault. Seaman vaulted a height of 16-10.75 to take fourth place in the event.

Members of the Villanova men's track & field team competed in one of two meets on Saturday, including the Hurricane Alumni Invitational hosted by Miami as well as the Delaware State Invitational. Both meets produced some strong results for the Wildcats, who had success in both running and field events during the weekend.

The Hoosiers got big performances throughout the weekend to take the men's and women's titles at the Indiana Invitational. The women's meet came down to the final event, with the Hoosiers running away with the 4x400m relay for the win with 203.5 points, to Michigan State's 201. The men wrapped up the meet much earlier, taking 189 points, to MSU's 161. The Hoosiers broke five meet records in the meet.

Newcomer Kaitlyn Good finished second overall in the heptathlon to kick-off day two at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by University of Cincinnati at Gettler Stadium on Saturday morning. Good, who is coming off a victory at the Oliver Nikoloff Open earlier this month, crossed the line first in the 800-meter run (2:17.18) to earn 4697 points in the multi-event competition.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The women's 4x400m relay team set the school record in the event, as the University of Louisville track and field teams brought day two of the Mt. SAC Relays to a close late Friday evening in Walnut, Calif., at Hilmer Lodge Stadium.

Grand Valley State men's track and field team competed at three track and field meets this weekend (April 14-16). The Lakers raced in day two of the Mt. SAC Relays and had four student-athletes hit NCAA Division II provisional marks. GVSU will compete next Saturday (April 23) at the Ernie Mousseau Classic in Grand Rapids, Mich., and the Pacesetter Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind.

The UConn women's track and field team competed at the Mt. Sac Relays this weekend in Walnut, Calif. and saw the Connecticut 1,500m record fall. Senior Meghan Cunningham competed in the 1,500m Open Division and ran 4:23.66, lowering the school record she held at the start of the season.

In her first race of the outdoor season senior Sheila Reid (Newmarket, Ont.) shattered her own personal best in the 1500 meters and established a new leading time in the nation with a mark of 4:11.85 at the Mt. SAC Relays on Friday at Hilmer Lodge Stadium. Reid was part of a group of Villanova student-athletes competing on Friday during part of this weekend's three-day meet.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville track and field teams wrapped up their second day of the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn., on Friday evening, at Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium, with three event titles.

Western Washington University's Sarah Porter broke her own school record set last season by nearly 27 seconds as she placed fourth in the women's 5,000 meters with a NCAA Division II automatic qualifying time of 15:57.02 on Friday night at the 53rd Annual Mt. SAC Relays being held at Hilmer Lodge Stadium. Porter's time is the second-best nationally this season. She placed third at nationals in 2010 and seventh in 2009.

As the temperature barely crept above 90 degrees, the Hoya distance program made the Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, Calif., look like their west coast home as they had a strong presence during the Mt. Oklahoma athletes captured five titles Friday at the Mesa Classic in what is the first of two days of competition in the Phoenix area. The men's 4x100-meter relay, Conrad Aaron (shot put), Candyce McGrone (100-meter dash), Jasmine Simmons (long jump) and Bailey Wagner (shot put) all finished first in their respective events of the Friday event that will feature many of the same athletes as Saturday's Sun Angel Track Classic.

The Michigan State track & field team opened action at the Sun Angel Track Classic on Friday, April 8 in Tempe, Ariz. Competition at Arizona State got off to a strong start for the Spartans as two school records were broken during the opening day of the meet. Senior Anthony Agrusa and sophomore Beth Rohl set the school records in the men's and women's hammer throw, respectively.

(Apr. 2, 2011) - The Men's and Women's Track and Field teams competed at the Danny Curran Invitational at Widener University, hitting 11 MAC Qualifying marks and earning six top ten finishes. Brian Nerney (Middletown, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) improved upon his best mark of the season in high jump, clearing 1.98m/6'6” and winning the event, while placing sixth in the long jump, breaking the school record and bettering his previous MAC qualifying mark.

The Grand Valley State women's track and field team hit four NCAA provisional marks at the Spartan Invite on Saturday (April 2) evening in East Lansing, Mich. The Lakers were lead by Sam Lockhart, who hit two provisional marks in the throwing events. GVSU will compete next Friday, April 8 at the Miami Invitational in Oxford, Ohio.

Dwight Barbiasz cleared 7-3 3/4 for the second straight week to win the men's high jump at the Florida Relays.

Junior Shericka Ward (Leesburg, Fla.) and freshman Samantha Francis (Kingston, Jamaica) were individual winners in the 100 meter hurdles and the triple jump, respectively, and Villanova also won the 4x400 meter relay en route to capturing the team championship in the 46th Colonial Relays at Zable Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Counting today's action plus the first day of competition on Friday the Wildcats won six different events and dominated the team standings with 116.2 points. No other team in the field of 40 schools had more than 62 points.

After two days of competition at the Tiger Track Classic, the Georgia Tech men's and women's track and field teams earned four victories and had nine top-3 times at the Hutsell-Rosen Track on the campus of Auburn University.

With only two individual events scheduled for Saturday at the Florida Relays, the UCF outdoor track & field team made a statement in the relay races.
