  • Kansas Women Claim Big 12 Outdoor Title

    The University of Kansas women's track and field team were crowned team champions Sunday at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships. Four individual champions as well as wins in both the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relays propelled the Jayhawks to their first outdoor team title in program history. KU finished the meet with 158 points, beating out defending champion, Texas, who tallied 145 points.

  • Wildcats Set Meet Record in 4x800 Meter Relay, Lipari Wins 1500 Meters Title

    Villanova continued its dominance in the 4x800 meter relay with a meet record and junior Emily Lipari (Greenvale, N.Y.) was both the anchor of the relay and the individual champion in the 1500 meters as the BIG EAST Championships wrapped up at the Rutgers Track & Field Complex on Sunday afternoon. During three days of competition the Wildcats recorded nine All-BIG EAST performances - including the two titles won on Sunday - and Villanova finished in fourth place in the final team standings.

    The greatest track meet on U.S. soil will return to TrackTown USA when the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field are contested July 1-10, 2016, in Eugene, Ore.     Last September, 19-year-old Latipha Cross was thrust from relative obscurity into the national spotlight when ESPN released a 10-minute video on her life. Titled "One Sprinter, Many Hurdles," the video told how Cross overcame homelessness and two bouts of cancer to earn a full scholarship at EMU.   • Bracy Blasts U.S.#1 (tie),World #4 6.54 (tie) 60m At Arkansas Tyson Invitational

    In his track and field debut two weeks ago, former Boone standout and Florida State freshman Marvin Bracy opened with a world #6 time of 6.64 and followed that up with a blazing 6.61 at the Razorback Invitational. This week he did one better going 6.57 in the prelims and a blistering 6.54 in the finals at the Arkansas Tyson Invitational. The mark ties him for world #4 and U.S. #1 with fellow American and Olympian Mike Rodgers. Bracy's time is the number one time in the NCAA this year. His time also breaks the former FSU record set by Maurice Mitchell of 6.55.
