The University of Connecticut men's track and field squad concluded the IC4A Championships tied for eighth place with 31 points. UConn, who entered the final day in first place with 30 points, had its 4x100m relay team register its best performance on Sunday as they ended the day in second.

After leaving the 2012 BIG EAST Outdoor Championship with a silver medal in the decathlon, junior Ben Waruch (Kerhonkson, N.Y.) leads the Huskies after day one of the IC4A decathlon with 3,595 points. Waruch was second (11.42) in the 100m dash, grabbed seventh in the long jump with a leap of 6.33m, finished second (13.13m) in the shot put, was in a four-way tie for fourth (1.86m) in the high jump and captured second place in the 400m run after posting a time of 50.60.

Men's track and field sophomore Claudio DelliCarpini was named the BIG EAST Track Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. The West Harrison, N.Y. native earns this week's accolade after capturing first place in the 110m hurdles at the UNH Invite with a time of 14.23.
Gulliver Prep senior Briana Pulido wrapped up her high school career at the 2A State Finals and is now looking forward to the next chapter of her life. Pulido recently committed to the University of Connecticut and Coach William Morgan. She says the Huskies were the complete fit for her.
