Ryan graduated from Central Missouri State University in 1985 with a degree in Business and is a certified educator. He is currently working as a Benefit Authorizer for the Social Security Administration. In 2008 he retired from the Army with 24 years of service serving two tours in Iraqi. He has served with the 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, 2nd Infantry Division in Korea and the 3rd Infantry Division in Iraqi. He was certified as Master Fitness Trainer while in the service and has over 10 years of experience in the training field. He is a graduate of the Combined Arms and Services Staff School, the Command and General Staff College and the War College at Ft. Leavenworth, KS. He received his Master’s Degree in Business from the University of Central Texas.
Ryan continues to compete in running events throughout the Midwest.
In High School he earned All District honors in the 400m and 4x800. He specializes in the Sprint and Mid-Distance field and has helped coach several all-state sprinters from the Independence area.
